Spoiler Alert: Stop reading if you have not yet watched Sunday’s Revenge!
After a nearly five-month wait, Sunday’s Revenge finally revealed that the identity of the dead male hand in the boat belonged to minor mobster character Nate Ryan (Michael Trucco). But that wasn’t the big news. Also killed in a bloody battle aboard Jack’s Amanda boat was the real Emily Thorne, a.k.a. ‘Fauxmanda’ Clark. (ABC’s tricky promos, teasing that Emily Thorne would pay “the ultimate price” turned out to be dead-on.)
Revenge has mastered the art of the red herring. The season premiere flashed forward to a male hand in the hull of a sunken boat, suggesting one of the main actors could be killed off come winter.
But in the Feb. 17 episode, Jack, Daniel and Aiden were all spared. Ditto Declan, Conrad and Nolan. Turns out, ABC’s sneaky promos teasing that Emily Thorne would “pay the ultimate price” actually gave away the victim’s identity:
