Victoria Grayson will wrangle herself a surprising new ally when Revenge kicks off its fourth season next month.

Nestor Serrano (Graceland) has been tapped to recur as Edward Alvarez, a “commanding and perceptive police chief” who’s (surprisingly) in Victoria’s corner, TVLine has learned exclusively.
“We’re just starting to explore his character right now,” executive producer Sunil Nayar tells us. “He’s a friend of Victoria’s on the force who really has her back at a time when she needs someone to have her back. We’re not sure exactly where we’re headed with the character, but we like the idea of her having an ally in a position of an authority.”

In addition to Graceland, Serrano’s TV credits also include recurring roles on Blue Bloods, Dexter and 90210.

And now our other piece of exciting news! I’ve been doing a lot of work with Ted Sullivan lately to help promote the Revenge Graphic Novel and the show, and he has wonderfully agreed to do a FAN Q&A for EmilyThorne.org and he may even bring some friends with him!

The friends Ted may be bringing with him are… Nick Wechsler and Karine Vanasse!

It’s all going on via email, I’m hoping to have at least 10-15 for each person and the group as a whole and my staff and I will choose from all of the ones we get. We’ve already taken questions via Instagram, Twitter, and our Tumblr page and now we’ll also take questions via the comments section of this post.

So if you have a question, please leave a comment or email me at emilythorneorg@gmail.com, using the subject header: Fan Q&A. The deadline to submit questions is Wednesday, August 20 at 10 PM MT.

Continuing with our wonderful interview with Jill, here’s part 2 of the Q&A!

Question: In terms of character evolution over the last three years who has been your favorite character to style and change with?

Jill: My two favorites as far as changing character arcs that are reflected in the costumes would be Nolan And Charlotte. Nolan has gone from geeky computer nerd to suave polished man about town. I particularly worked with how what fashion trends he had absorbed from the season before would influence what he wore and how he wore it in the next season each year becoming a little bit more knowledgeable and stylish as he soaks up the sleek world of Hamptons fashion. Charlotte was also a lot of fun as I got to help her character grow up so to speak. She started in girlish  little floral dresses with ruffles and bows and has now grown into a sophisticated young woman with an edgy chic style that shows her feelings of being at odds in her own world.

Spencer asks: Who are your own fashion inspirations and do you have a unique style that you’d call your own, what is your most important style tip for both men and women?

Jill: My fashion inspirations are Grace Coddington of Vogue, Diane Keaton, Dries Van Noten Roland Mouret, ect. I’d call my own unique style tailored boho. I love tailored clothing but always like to add bohemian jewelry and accessories to mix it up. My most important tip for all men and women is to find a good local tailor or seamstress that can help your clothes to fit you in the most flattering way. Also if you weren’t born with the fashion gene and a lot of us aren’t find a store that has a stylist or persona; shopper who can help you find clothes that will flatter and fit both you and your lifestyle.

Without Jill Ohanneson, Revenge wouldn’t have any of the amazing clothing and styles that you see on your screen each week. Since the beginning, Jill and her team have worked tirelessly to create the deliciously beautiful world of Revenge, from Emily’s most devious getups to Nolan’s popped collars and more, and Jill was fantastic enough to do an email interview with us!

Fans submitted questions via our Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook pages and after sorting through the questions and submitting our favorites, here are her wonderful answers. We’re splitting the interview into 2 parts, so check back this weekend for Part 2.

Question: There’s a lot of recurring colors in Emily’s wardrobe, reds, whites, and of course blacks, do you dress her based off a specific theme in the episode or coincide it with a color that’s really in at the time?

Jill: I definitely base Emilys color palette on what’s happening in each scene of the script. Color is one of the ways I can help to tell the emotional story of the character at any one time. But I also love to play with whatever colors are trending as well as long as it helps to define the character!

TheNolanRoss asks: What are your favorite brands to dress Nolan in? Do you look for brands you already know or play around with up and commers too, and how do you decide that’s the look you want for Nolan.

Jill: Nolan is so much fun to dress. I am an equal opportunity shopper and have purchased things for Nolan anywhere from hi end designers to Target to Ebay and secondhand shops. If it feels like Nolan’s fun & eccentric character I’ll buy it anywhere!! Also I have tried to have Nolan grow up a but in his clothing each season. From the more childish combos of season one to the more sophisticated polished look of season 3. I feel that eccentric characters can become caricatures if they dress the same crazy way all the time so I try to always change it up!

Question: What’s it like to design costumes for a show that’s notorious for its dramatic flair?

Jill: it’s incredibly fun and the job of a lifetime to get to design the costumes for REVENGE!! I love combining what’s happening to the actors in the script with current fashion trends in a way that helps tell the story of the drama and romance! Im convinced I have the best job in the world!!

Is Revenge really not doing a flash-forward this season? It’s the show’s signature. –Jason
I can confirm that – tradition be damned — there will not be a flash-forward inRevenge‘s Season 4 premiere (airing Sept. 28).

TV Fanatic: What’s the goal going into season four?

Sunil Nayar: I think that one of the overarching goals in sort of this process, and one of those that’s really, I have to say, wonderful, is that we’re a fourth year show and this network has so much other great stuff coming up and just to have kind of the amazing support of the network all the way up to Paul [Lee, President], who’s still such a giant fan of the show.

I think the season premiere is going to be full of surprises, full of unexpected payoffs to our cliffhangers and I think the big question that we’re looking to answer this year as Emily and Victoria and as David comes back this year is that people are asked to change who they are yet again and that is really the battle of who people have been.

Emily has been Emily Thorne for so long and the idea is what does it mean to be Amanda to her? Victoria’s been next to Conrad for so long and what does it mean for her to be a free woman now? David’s been wherever David’s been for so long and what does it mean to be back in the world? And so I think one of the things that we are fascinated to explore is to figure out who our people are and who they really are struggling to try to be and who they’re actually capable of being.

TVF: Are we getting a direct pickup or has some time passed?

SN: There’s a lot going on and like this show always does, there’s like little bits of time jumps so we always think there’s sort of the fun things to embrace as we jump forward. So I think you’ll see where the episode picks up. We found a perfect spot to do it.
